Hot Camera Strap

Something I Love: So I have been wanting to share with you an awesome little thing for a while now and since I am back on board with posting here it is.
A camera strap by Mel [V] Designs.

My wonderful SIL Carmella introduced me to this by wearing a similar strap but with red fabric. I wanted to share this with you but didn't know how to contact Mel [V] Designs and googled her and found her blog and etsy shop if you are interested in this or gifting this for Christmas. From what I can tell you can make requests for certain fabrics...I personally love mine it's amazing what a little fabric around a camera strap will do!

My Grandma's Cranberry Sauce

Recipe: Hello friends! I hope your Thanksgiving day was wonderful, full of family, food and fun! My wonderful hubby had to work but fortunately only for a little bit yesterday morning {you know cattle eat everyday :)} and then we headed up to his family's celebration. In talking to my MIL earlier this week I was checking in with what they ate because I'm a creature of habit and wanted to make sure that my faves "pillars of my meal" were going to be present. Something that I hold near and dear to my heart is my Grandma Groseta's cranberry sauce. It is pretty much what I call the "center pivot" of my plate. I want everything to touch it and this is one of the few times when I eat that I am so willing to mingle my dishes on the plate. So after mentioning that to my MIL, she suggested I bring my version to have with theirs as well. I have since had it twice yesterday, dipped my breakfast turkey sandwich in it, my lunch turkey sandwich in it today and will have some more at dinner with more turkey! I love this stuff! Here is the rundown...

Grandma Katherine’s Cranberry Sauce

1 package fresh cranberries (12 oz bag)
1 cup water or apple juice
1 cup sugar (less if you use apple juice)
1 jar unsweetened apple sauce
Wash and sort cranberries, take out bad/spoiled ones. Cook in saucepan cranberries in water/juice with
sugar until cranberries “pop” or open. Add applesauce. Chill in refrigerator and serve cold.

I ended up buying one of those 3 pound bags at Costco and had a large jar of sauce so I had to do more guesstimating but in the end got it to come out as I remembered my mama and grandma making it. A tip for leftover cranberries...my MIL put them in ball/kerr jars with flowers. She's pretty talented when it comes to floral arrangements and apparently does this every year. I was thinking that is a great idea for the rest of this month. I'm hoping to have a dinner party in the next couple of weeks and will definitely be doing some of these arrangements and will plan to snap some photos for you. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Miscellany Monday

{1} I apologize on being MIA. It's been a really crazy last two months. I mean, my life is always crazy but I think I took it to new levels. Between work and things in my personal life I just didn't have time for anything else. But I really missed writing out my thoughts/opinions/ramblings/ideas on this little blog-a-roo so I'm back and have SO many things to share...

{2} It is the wonderful week of Thanksgiving aka Turkey Day! And I'm so excited to take a break from work and just enjoy family and friends for a couple days! Not to mention, enjoying a nice glass of wine and turkey/stuffing/gravy/cranberry sauce/olives/spuds and more!

{3} I will blog about my wonderful Grandma's cranberry sauce after I make it on Wednesday, it is my MOST favorite part of the Turkey Day meal. It's the center pivot to my eating routine--literally--every item on the plate ends up with a little bit of cranberry sauce on it!

{4} Have I told you how much I love my job? Really, I couldn't be more blessed to do what I do. I thank God for this position I'm in. [if you don't know what I do, I work for the Arizona Cattle Growers', I publish a monthly magazine and quarterly newsletter and work on membership--meaning I get to travel the state and meet/visit with ranchers. It ROCKS!]

{5} I'm going to Vegas for the NFR, second weekend in December with my two bestest friends and another friend. I'm beyond stoked...I've decided to treat myself to one nice thing. I haven't decided yet and it may change when I get there but I'm thinking either a pair of Old Gringos or a Rocki Gorman piece of jewelry...both pricey but I call it an investment :)

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving if I don't post again...BUT I plan on putting up my promised post about La Grande Orange...hugs!!

Hi, I'm alive.

I promise to post tomorrow. I'm alive, I've been reading your blogs now and then but haven't had TIME to post one of my own. I'm a tad embarrassed about it but, what can you do? What's done is done and I will be coming back, promise. :)
