Falalalala it's FALL!!

So in Rapid City, South Dakota this weekend I got to see leaves changing colors!! Woohoo, considering  we are still in triple, yes triple digits in my neck of the Arizona woods I was ecstatic to see it. However, I was planning on the temperature being in the 70's as I checked on prior to my arrival but when that wind picked up and temps dropped I had to go buy a bigger jacket at Tarjay...which really irritates me because I have jackets at home!! I don't need another one...
Anyway, once October 1st hit I knew I could take out my fall decor and I am excited to try some new things this year but since I'm not home and sitting in a tiny regional airport I am going to do a dream post on fall decor for the home...

Too much for any home I will ever have but it's fun to look at and get's me excited for crisper weather...

I saw this on Petie's blog last week and then I saw it as I google image searched and I love this galvanized tray too much to not put it on my blog as well.

I love candy corn. I love pumpkins and gourds and all those other cute little things I can't wait to put out!

Happy Fall decorating...if my home turns out with any luck I may post a picture of what I end up doing...

FEZ on Central

Dining Destination: FEZ on Central. You should try it sometime. I went a couple months ago and was very satisfied with the whole atmosphere and taste of the food. Not to mention our waiter totally was a Dane Cook/Ryan Reynolds lookalike which I found entertaining.

They describe themselves as: Ultra sleek. Ultra urban. In the heart of central Phoenix. American cuisine infused with Mediterranean spices & ingredients that create fresh, flavorful selections and signature martinis and margaritas offered in a relaxing, contemporary atmosphere

So that whole Mediterranean feel is what I believe put lamb all over their menu which I thought was great. I mean I have never seen lamb strips as an option for a salad topping. However, that meant beef wasn't an option on most things...:( which I get, I think if they would have both more people would be apt to just choose the beef and then they would have all this leftover lamb...okay that's what I think anyway.

Nonetheless I still ordered beef...I couldn't resist, it was the balsamic glaze and bleu cheese that made my heart go pitter pat.Bleu cheese balsamic burger {balsamic glaze, danish bleu cheese, spinach, red onion & aioli} and instead of fries being the standard option a salad is. Actually, fries are a $2 substitution...crazy! But I stuck with the salad but subbed out the standard field salad with lemon basil vinagarette for the Pesto Caesar with Pistachios {romaine caesar salad with pesto caesar dressing, toasted pistachio, parmesan cheese & spiky croutons} I was very happy with my choice.

My dining partner chose...well honestly it's been so long I can't remember. Obviously she got chicken but I can't tell if this is the Marrakech Salad {baby spinach with shaved carrot, radishes, walnuts, feta cheese &
grapefruit segments in a sherry vinaigrette} or the FEZ Salad {mixed field greens with toasted almonds, goat cheese, cinnamon marinated pears, dried cherries & pomegranate vinaigrette} nonetheless she was happy.
I'm sure I will be hitting this place up again, next time I'm going for the lamb!!

It's FRIDAY!!

Wow, where has the time gone?!? I have so many dining destinations to post about and so many blogs to read and catch up on...sorry I've been MIA just a little crazy here in AZ. Let me give you a rundown of the latest...
{a} I can't believe it's been almost 3 months at my new job. I'm so happy and feel so blessed, I'm absolutely loving it.

{b} We went to San Diego a couple weekends ago for a whirlwind 24 hour jaunt our friends David and Brenna and had a great time. Super relaxing and the best part was eating lunch at Point Loma Seafood. I had the Scallop Sandwich and momentarily was in what felt like heaven. Seriously folks, if and when you get to SD you MUST visit this place but remember it's cash only:)

{c} Last weekend was the 78th annual Yavapai Cattle Growers' Calf Sale & BBQ, I had a booth for work and sent a heifer for the sale. I have grown up at this event and it's one of my favorites. My SIL Gretchen is the YCGA Executive Secretary and her hubby {my bro} is the current President they did an awesome job at the whole thing. The Governor came and spoke, the food was delish and the vendors were great. Not to mention, my little heifer placed second for the heifers...and I won a lovely gift certificate to El Charro. My sister took home for the THIRD year in a row 1st place steer! I'm so proud of her. She always has good calves so I wasn't surprised. Here's a pic of the men cutting up the meat for the serving lines...they fed over 1200 people! I can't even describe with words how good this meat is...

{d} I'm currently in a hotel in Rapid City, SD...crazy huh?! Well, no, I'm at the National Beef Ambassador Competition and as the Arizona State Cowbelles Chair I am "chaperoning" and I use that term loosely our contestant...who just happens to be from my hometown and was not even high school when I left for college...who's feeling a little old right now? Me.

{e} Please pray for a dear friend. I'm sure you remember me posting about Robert Krentz and his death back in March, well his wife Sue was hit by a drunk driver last Saturday night after leaving Mass and she is currently in ICU and has a long road for recovery ahead of her. Pray for her, the lady she was helping cross the street and their families.

{f} Wow, hello October. When did you get here? That's right it's getting to be "Fall" ahem I guess, I mean it's still over 100 degrees in Phoenix but whatever I'm about to bust out my Thanksgiving/Fall decor at my house. And you know what else is here?! COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!! My Wildcats are doing really well and are currently RANKED yes, yes we are! We are currently 14th and sitting 4-0 as we approach another PAC-10 game on 10/9 vs. the Oregon State Beavers. Go CATS!!

{g} I guess that's it for my random musings...hope everyone else has a fabulous weekend!!
